Anthropo-centric transformation of Mars will instigate a new kind of Geo-evolutionism.
By applying Planetary Science’s principles to both the organic and inorganic realms
humans shall ultimately discover, perhaps, a multi-global grand-plan for both: geologic
processes and events effect changes that may foster new processes and events that bring
about new affective changes. Artificial creation of a Mars ocean, utilized by specialized
shipping and stocked with selected aquatic organisms, ought to prove, or disprove, some
aspects of Geo-evolutionism’s geologic-biotic hypothesis and, as well, provide Mars
settlers with an interesting ecoindustrial region.

Mars may have an open Rock Cycle. After humans settle Mars a closed Rock Cycle may be
instigated. Were even a small-scale anthropogenic closed Rock Cycle initiated it would be
consistent with James Hutton’s viewpoint on change through Geological Time: the Mars-crust
could then become a self-repairing “machine”. Oneiric macro-engineers foresee the
real possibility of such a technogenic event-process commencing this century.
